Vada Lou Drewry

Mrs. Vada L. Drewry, age 84, a resident of Greenfield, TN passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at NHC in Milan, TN.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Hunt Funeral Home in Bradford, Tennessee with Brother Josh Stone and Brother P.J. Scott officiating. Family will visit with friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Greenfield, TN.

Vada was born on June 3, 1934 in Greenfield, TN. She was the daughter of the late Boyd and Onie (Manns) Dunning. She was married for 31 years to the late William E. (Pete) Drewry who preceded her in death in 1981.

After her marriage in 1950 she became an army wife and moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Upon the completion of their Tour of Duty, the couple settled in Riverside Michigan before returning to Greenfield in 1958.

Vada retired from the Kellwood Company in Greenfield to become a stay at home wife and mother, caring for their son, Jeffery who had muscular dystrophy. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Vada is survived by her daughter Reba (Ronnie) Arnold of Bradford, Tennessee, her son Paul (Valerie) Drewry of Oviedo Fl, and son-in-law Dale Stephens of Gleason Tennessee. Grandchildren Nicki (Paul) Pace, Andy Stephens, Dr. Nina (Kurt) Bowers, Maegan, Madison, and Macy Drewry. Great Grandchild Max Pace. Brothers; James E (Pat) Dunning, Billy T. (Betty) Dunning, along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Vada was preceded in death by her son Jeffery Drewry (12-24-1980) and her daughter Terri Stephens (9-29-2018)
