Philip Allen Anderson

Graveside services for Mr. Philip Allen Anderson, age 94, will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, in the Bradford Cemetery in Bradford, TN.

Philip Allen Anderson was born on February 19th, 1932, in Waubay, South Dakota. He passed away on August 27th, 2026, in Trenton, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his son, Arnold Allen Anderson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys; his daughters, Anita Ulseth (Bill), Buni Wendt (Wayne), and Amy Wendland (Mark); as well as a brother and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Philip enjoyed playing basketball and football for the local high school teams. Sunday afternoons were reserved for football, basketball and golf. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was an avid gardener, loved chickens and dogs, and always told stories of driving “Major” the Percheron in his farming days in South Dakota.

Eventually, Philip and his family moved to Wheaton, Illinois and worked for General Mills until he found his love for the printing press. Working for print shops took him all over the country from Illinois to California and eventually Tennessee where he worked until he retired.

Philip was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, but he loved his Jesus most of all. He could often be found evangelizing to any Milan Walmart Subway customer who happened to sit by him. If you knew him, you were truly blessed. He always had a song in his heart, and he enjoyed singing with no one more than his wife Gladys.

He will be missed terribly, but his legacy will live on.
