Funeral services for Mr. Gary Wayne Bearden, age 76, will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Griffin Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Gary was born in Lake County, TN on September 15, 1949, to the late Lodis and Elizabeth Bearden. He departed this life peacefully for his eternal home on January 1, 2026, at his home in Bradford, TN, surrounded by loved ones.
Mr. Bearden was dedicated, loving, and passionate. He embodied the love of Christ through his life well lived. He was a devoted member of Griffin Chapel Methodist church and appreciated God’s bountiful creation of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and gardener, as well as an enthusiast of automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Later in his life, he had a love for his family simply being together.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lodis and Elizabeth Bearden and his four brothers, Thomas Bearden, Bobby Bearden, Raymond Bearden, and James Franklin Bearden who was heaven’s gain.
He is survived by his sweet and devoted wife of over 56 years, Patsy Bearden; one son, Kevin (Bethany) Bearden; one daughter, Kristie (Terry) Capps; three grandchildren, Brett (Abigail) Capps, Andrew Capps (Hallie Horne), and Zac Bearden; one great-grandson, Lee Capps; one brother, David (Mary) Bearden; one sister, Dianne (Terry) Higham; and a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
